MARCH Twinning Association have enjoyed a busy 2012 so far.

A successful sausage and mash supper in January was followed by a race night in March with both events raising money for Association funds.

These funds will be used to assist with a youth exchange in the summer when a group of local students travel to St Jean de Braye in France to take part in a series of activities with people from other twin towns in Germany and Poland.

Planning for this exchange is under way with an advance party travelling to France in May to discuss arrangements.

The main event of the year will be the visit to March of around 50 to 60 people from St Jean de Braye between October 30 and November 4 with the guests staying with host families in the March area.

The visiting group will be made up of committee members, regular French Association visitors and people making their first trip to March.

If anyone is interested in hosting an individual, couple or family, contact 01354-650549.

The visit this year will involve the Association taking the French visitors out for at least one full day – possibly on a tour of North Norfolk - with one evening event being planned.

Hosts often make the return journey to France in subsequent years and long standing friendships have developed.

Our twin town of St Jean de Braye near Orleans has numerous clubs and groups covering a wide variety of activities, both sporting and cultural, and they always want to hear from like minded people in March to set up exchanges.
