FORMER March Mayor Debby Bunn has resigned as managing director of Roddons - just seven months after taking on the role.
The shock announcement came last week, but was only confirmed in a press release today (Thursday).
The mum of one, took over the position from Christopher Smith, who has stepped back in to take control of the day to day running of the housing organisation.
Mr Smith has been closely involved with Roddons in his role as regional operations director for Circle - Roddons parent-company.
He will be working alongside Brenda Reynolds, chairman of Roddons board.
She said: “Roddons is in safe hand with Christopher at the helm, and we will work together to find a new managing director to lead the organisation into the future.”
Just why Ms Bunn has resigned is not known but local councillors who worked alongside her over the past few months have paid tribute to her.
Virginia and Mike Bucknor, opposition councillors on Fenland Council, said: “We are shocked and saddened by Debby’s resignation. We have worked with her since she took over as managing director and we were impressed by her passion and commitment to helping the community, particularly Waterlees in Wisbech. She was always very positive and hardworking.”
