MARCH Town Cricket Club held its annual three-day cricket festival at the town’s ground on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
This is the seventh year of the event where the club coaches offer children the opportunity to learn and practice cricket skills. The festival also included educational presentations from HMP Whitemoor staff, Cambs police and Cambs Fire Service as well as bouncy castle fun on Thursday.
Other support came from Fenland District Council’s sports development officers, the FDC community bus as well as March Squash Club taster sessions.
Around 80 boys and girls aged between seven and 12 attended the festival.
A presentation evening was held on Thursday for the children and their parents. They tucked into hot dogs and collected goody bags which included Fenmarc baseball caps, certificates, medals, tennis balls and sweets.
Club chairman Les Mills thanks all coaches and helpers for their hard work and enthusiasm.
