In Bloom team planting seeds for victory ready for annual judging day

LEARN MOREThey are now in to the big countdown for the Anglia in Bloom competition in Chatteris, once again going for the gold award.
Tina Prior, chairman, has received confirmation that the judges will be out and about on Tuesday July 9.
This news comes as the Chatteris in Bloom team prepare the town’s planters with the new display; and, with the help of the Christmas Lights team, put up the 40 hanging baskets along the High Street and Park Street.
There has been a lot of had work in the planning of the planting by the In Bloom committee, led by head gardener, Nick Kirk.
They hope that the soft colour scheme will be appreciated by townsfolk, visitors and, of course, the judges.
The Manea School of Gardening will now begin the watering sessions, helping to keep the baskets and planters looking worthy of that Gold award the team are striving to win.
This is a community event, and the committee ask that if anyone sees any damage to the planters or wilting plants that they contact them via the Facebook page, or drop into see Tina at The Old Bakery.
If anyone would like to be involved, either with In Bloom or Street Pride, please contact anyone from the team, as it is definitely a case of ‘the more, the merrier.’
Tina said: "Chatteris in Bloom thank all of their sponsors for their wonderful support, it is very much appreciated."
