POLICE are appealing for information after a box of jewellery was snatched from a van in Wisbech.

The offender grabbed the box of gold jewellery from the passenger seat of a silver Ford Transit Connect van while a market trader was packing up her stall at 3.20pm on Monday, August 8 in Market Place.

The offender ran off towards Market Street.

Stolen items included a gold band ring which looks like two bands joined together with ‘750’ (heart) on the inside of the band and a row of square diamonds.

A D&G watch was also taken.

PC Colin Johnson, investigating, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who knows who is responsible to contact police.

“I would like to hear from anyone who is offered any jewellery for sale.”

Anyone with any information should call PC Johnson on 0345-456-4564 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555111.
