Kettles on for Macmillan

MORE Citizen readers have come forward with events for this year’s Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday September 30.

Added to the list from last week are: Pat Hart is hosting an event at Wimblington Parish Hall from 10am to 11.30am; Mother and daughter Janet Greenall and Joanna Johnson are welcoming people from 10am to 1pm to Greenland at 176 High Road, Gorefield, for refreshments, cakes and a raffle; Play2Day at Guyhirn is hosting coffee, stalls including jewellery and handbags and a raffle from 10am to noon; Bob and Shirley Bell are hosting an event in Murrow Village Hall, from 10am to noon, with refreshments, raffle, tombola and bric-a-brac stall; Jean Garner and family hold their event at the Post Office, Chapelgate, Sutton St James, from 9am to noon with a cake stall and raffle; Sally Elmer is hosting an event at her home at 145 Croft Road, Upwell, which will include a tombola, raffle, stalls and a special cash prize balloon launch to celebrate 100 years of Macmillan; Tessa’s Unisex Hair Salon at 11A New Street, Doddington, has coffee and cakes from 8.30am to 7pm; the Nationwide Building Society, at 26 Market Place, Wisbech, has coffee, cakes and a raffle from 9.30am to noon.

The Wisbech Macmillan Group holds its coffee morning on a different date, Wednesday September 28 from 10am to 4pm at Legge-Bourke Court, Chapnall Close, Walsoken, with various stalls.

Top To Toe at Hill Street, Wisbech, is holding its first ever ‘Bake Off’ for Macmillan on October 1 (as well as a coffee morning on Friday September 30).

The Bake Off is a cake competition with the categories Cute Cupcakes or Marvellous Muffins for ages under 18 and over 18s. Winners and runners-up receive fish pedicures, hair treatments and other prizes. The judging is at noon.
