A man has been charged following the death of a pedestrian in a collision in Walsoken yesterday morning.

Arturas Matuzevicius, who was 49 and of Lilac Close, Wisbech, died at the scene of the incident in Wisteria Road, which happened at around 10.20am on Tuesday.

A short time ago, police announced they had charged Michael Johnson, 51, of Waterlees Road, Wisbech, with causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit.

He has also been charged with causing death by driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with his licence.

He is currently in custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Cambridge tomorrow.
