Learn more at Wisbech’s Skills and Jobs Fair

Major international companies, local businesses, colleges, charities and careers advisors will all be on hand at the second Fenland Jobs and Skills Fair in Wisbech tomorrow (Thursday, April 9).

The event looks set to be even bigger and better than the first, with all the stallholder spaces at the venue filled.

Job-seekers and students will be offered great opportunities to apply for current vacancies and get help in maximising their chances of finding work.

About 30 businesses and other organisations have signed up for the fair, which takes place at the Queen Mary Centre in Queens Road tomorrow. People can drop in at any time between 10am and 4pm; no booking is required.

The fair is organised by Fenland District Council and Anglian Water, with support from Circle Roddons, the Ferry Project, Jobcentre Plus and Foster Property Developments.

Visitors will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to have mock interviews, followed by constructive feedback, designed to help them impress potential employers.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day. And there will be a chance for one lucky visitor to win an iPad by filling up a feedback form and handing it in before they leave. The winner will be picked at random at the end of the day.

Last year’s fair, the first of its kind, was highly successful, attracting more than 400 visitors. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with more than 90 per cent of respondents saying it had proved useful to them.
