A Wimblington firm is giving something back to the community after buying a defibrillator.

Pavemac has spent around £1,000 on buying the piece of life-saving equipment, which has now been installed at its premises in Eastwood End.

The East of England Ambulance Service will be able to use the defibrillator along with members of the public following a 999 call.

All Pavemac staff have completed instruction on how to use the defibrillator.

A spokesman for the firm said: “We wanted to give something back to the community.

“With 25 members of staff based here, we thought it was an essential piece of equipment.”

The firm has also provided a monetary donation to the Doddington Medical Centre Patient Participation Group’s (PPG) grand Christmas raffle.

The group provides information and advice for patients with long-term illnesses.

It also runs awareness days along with buying equipment for the surgery.
