Long Sutton building set for £40,000 nursery transformation

THE historic United Reformed Church building in Long Sutton is being transformed into a Montessori Nursery.

Clare Harris of Phoenix Montessori Nursery in Terrington St Clement, which has been established for over 25 years at the forefront of nursery education, is taking on the challenge of restoring and converting the old building at a cost of around 40,000.

"Initially, we plan to open during term time from 8am until 4pm daily, but we are prepared to be very flexible according to parents' needs," said Clare.

Clare, who has a B.Ed.(Hons) as well as a Montessori Diploma, is Chair of the Montessori Schools Association - East Anglia Region.

She has inspected for Ofsted and is now inspecting for the Independent Schools Inspectorate and assessing for the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board.

"We always aim high," said Clare.

"Our Terrington nursery was graded outstanding at our last Ofsted, we have Montessori Accreditation, Norfolk Quality Assurance and many awards for good practice and staff care.

"We have a superb, high-flying staff team, who work closely together with the aim of providing the highest quality of care and education and we aim to achieve the same excellent standard at Long Sutton.

"As soon as we have finished recruiting staff, we shall be able to set an opening date."
