Looking for more volunteers

THE Civilian Welfare Committee of 1220 (March) Squadron of the Air Training Corps is looking for new members to get involved.

The committee is responsible for the financial management of the squadron and as such, is heavily involved in fundraising both directly and in conjunction with the cadets.

The annual meeting takes place tomorrow (Thursday) at the headquarters in Gas Road at 7.30pm.

The committee is looking for support from anyone who wants to volunteer their time and commitment to organise or help with fundraising activities.

The squadron has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years and the volunteer staff and cadets have made significant personal contributions to local events.

The majority of Cadets have been presented with Duke of Edinburgh awards and many have gained BTEC qualifications, raised money for local and national charities while also taking part in sponsored events to support their own squadron fundraising.

The squadron’s recent recognition was Best Overall Squadron in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire where they beat 29 others for this coveted trophy.
