FRIDAY is the official day for Macmillan’s biggest fundraiser, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Here are some of the events going on in this area.


• Number 10 coffee shop, Market Street, Wisbech, 10am to noon. Coffee and cakes.

• Jubilee Court, Elwyn Road, March, 10.30am to noon.


• Leverington Sports and Social Club, 10am to 2pm. Cakes and refreshments. Hosted by Sharon Belton.

• Doddington Under Fives, Doddington Methodist Church, 9am till noon. Raffle, guess the cake weight, homemade cakes and refreshments. Hosted by Claire Storey.

• Walpole St Peter village hall, 9.30am to 12.30pm. Coffee, cakes and crafts. Hosted by the women of the Art and Craft group.

• Nene Court, 9.30am to 1pm. Raising money for Macmillan and marking International Older Person’s Day which falls on October 1.

• Glebelands Primary School, Chatteris, 10am to 11.30am. Refreshments and cakes.

• VIP Hair, Walsoken, 9am to noon. Cakes, refreshments, plant stall and raffle.

• Orchard Tea Room, Redmoor Lane, Wisbech, 11am to 1pm. Hosted by the Gadabout Girls.

• Murrow Village Hall, 10am to 12.30pm. Raffle, tombola, stall, cakes and refreshments.

• Rosmini Centre, Wisbech, 9am to 1pm. Raffle, cakes and refreshments.

• Fenland Hall, March, 9.30am to 11.30am. Hosted by chairman of Fenland District Council Michael Humphrey.

• Seven Stars, 75 The Avenue, March, 10am to 2pm. Coffee morning and small business market.

• Manea Methodist Chapel, 9.30am to noon. Refreshments, cakes and raffle.

• Wimblington Parish Hall, Addison Road, 10am to 11.30am. Hosted by Pat and Terry Hart. Refreshments and raffle.


• Chatteris Working Men’s Club, 10am to 1pm. Hosted by March and Chatteris branches of Macmillan Cancer Support. Stalls, cakes, refreshments and a raffle.

• Walpole Village Hall, 10am to noon. Hosted by the Three Schools Minibus Appeal. Stalls, raffle and refreshments. Proceeds to be split between the minibus appeal and Macmillan Cancer Support.


• 32 Cedar Avenue, Doddington, from 5pm. Cakes, games and jewellery stall. Hosted by Linda Harness.


• North Brink Practice, Wisbech, from 9am to 12.30pm. Hosted by the North Brink Pharmacy.
