Man airlifted to hospital after suffering burns in bonfire incident in Southery

A man was airlifted to hospital with burns to his arms and head after emergency services were called to an incident involving a bonfire in Southery.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance and an ambulance officer attended the incident at a property in Churchgate Street at 10.20am today.

They treated a man, believed to be in his 60s, who was conscious and breathing and he was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Norfolk Fire Service also attended and sent appliances from Downham Market, King’s Lynn and Littleport.

The fire was already out when they arrived.
