March man in 20s arrested following hit-and-run in Whittlesey, which left two seriously injured
A man has been arrested after a hit-and-run saw two men seriously injured.
Police were called to North Bank in Whittlesey at about 12.51am last Sunday, June 29, following a head-on crash.
A silver Toyota Yaris heading eastbound collided with a blue Volvo V40, which careered into a ditch.
The two men in the Toyota, aged 27 and 30 from Peterborough, were cut free by firefighters and taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
However, the driver of the Volvo fled the scene, prompting searches of the area as well as an appeal.
Officers have confirmed a man in his 20s from March has been arrested in connection with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.
He has now been released on bail and is due to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station in Longthorpe on October 4.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information, including any dash cam or video doorbell footage, to come forward.
