Man arrested in Wisbech after allegedly driving with cocaine in system

A man has been arrested after allegedly getting behind the wheel with drugs in his system.

The Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team was alerted to concerns about how a vehicle was being driven on Cromwell Road yesterday afternoon.

Officers followed the vehicle and requested the driver to stop on Weasenham Lane, where a roadside drug test was conducted following checks on the driver and the car.

The driver tested positive for cocaine and was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and taken to the police investigation centre.

Enquiries continue into the matter.
