Wisbech man arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and drink driving after 15-year-old cyclist left with serious injuries




A 45-year-old from Wisbech has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving after a 15-year-old boy was knocked off his bike.

Police are appealing for more information in relation to the incident which happened yesterday (February 25) at 7.35pm on Clarkson Avenue.

The driver failed to stop after the collision and the teenager from Wisbech was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, where he remains.

Police have since arrested a man on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving as well as driving above the specified alcohol limit.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the moments leading up to it is urged to contact police either online or via 101 quoting reference 385 of 25 February.
