A MAN has been found crushed to death in a domestic garage – under a car on which he was doing maintenance.

Police said the discovery was made bythe grandparents of 23-year-old Dominic Christopher Hunt. when they returned to their Lutton Marsh home from holiday in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police and paramedics were called to the home in South Drove at 1.45am, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not yet known how long his body had been undiscovered.

One theory is that jacks which the car was put on had slipped or failed in some way.

South Drove is a very rural road with some distance between houses. The property where the tragedy happened is semi-detached and stands on its own.

A pensioner neighbour said t there was often work on vehicles next door but she was unaware of the incident.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and they will not be investigating further.

Mr Hunt, who lived with his grandparents, was a production worker in a Wisbech factory.

An inquest was due to be opened yesterday.
