Man hurt after being hit by falling tree in Walton Highway

A man has been taken to hospital after being knocked unconscious while cutting down a tree in Walton Highway this morning, ambulance service chiefs say.

Emergency crews were called to an address in Blunts Drove shortly before 8.45am today, following reports a man had been struck by a falling tree.

The man, who is in his 60s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with a head injury.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said the injury was not believed to be life-threatening.

A Magpas air ambulance attended the incident, together with a road ambulance crew and a rapid response vehicle.
