Man rescued from water in King’s Lynn
An elderly man has been rescued from The Purfleet in Lynn this morning (Monday, January 18).
Firefighters in the Lynn and Thetford water rescue teams were in the town on a training exercise when they were called to the channel next to the Custom House just before 11am.
The man was found close to the edge and sitting on submerged platform before being pulled into the rescue raft.
He has been taken to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition.
Bob Ayres, a Lynn fire station manager, has praised the teams.
He said; “It was very quick from the time of the call to the man getting into the ambulance was 15 minutes which is very good.”
