AN estimated 150 people packed into Manea Village Hall on the evening of November 12 to watch Manea’s Got Talent.
Put on by Manea Impresario Mary Beeston and local couple Ellie and Mark Buckton, the show featured seventeen performances by local talents, including singers, dancers, a poet, pianist and a young magician. An appreciative audience were treated to a fantastic variety show that catered for all tastes, and with ages ranging from as young as seven every act was greeted with warm and enthusiastic applause.
The judging panel of Belinda Carson, Merv Murdoch and Debbie Clark had a difficult job identifying a winning act, but eventually came to the very popular decision to award first place to 11 year old Isiah Thurston who had performed a spectacular dance routine. Second place was awarded to 13 year old singer Shannon Buckton, with third prize being awarded to 8 year old Qugao Gao for her virtuoso piano performance.
The show was put on to raise money for Manea Church Rooms but achieved far more in entertainment value and bringing the community together.
The £450 profit made from the evening will prove to be a huge boost in maintaining a valuable community resource for the village.
