Kind-hearted Fenland Rotary Club members raised more than £1,000 for charity thanks to a sponsored bike ride.

Nine members from March and Chatteris Rotary Clubs pedalled between the two towns last month in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

March past president Godfrey Smith, Alex, Harriet and Bastian Nooteboom, John Orbell, Sheila Lattimore, Alan Crossley, Chatteris past president Donald Ashmore and Bruce Kent took on the challenge, which was part of a national cycling event for Prostate Cancer UK, supported by Rotary International Britain and Ireland.

The group set off from St Wendreda’s Church in March on June 20 and finished at the Cross Keys Hotel in Chatteris, where they enjoyed a hearty, well-deserved lunch with many of their supporters.
