A March firm’s first intake of apprentices are celebrating after passing their qualifications.
Luke Cannon, Chelsea Elmer and Louise Youles have acheived their intermediate level apprenticeship in food industry skills at Greenvale’s Floods Ferry site.
The trio, who were selected to join the apprenticeship programme in 2014, are now embarking on the Level 3 Food Safety Module.
Over the year, the apprentices have spent time working in various areas of potato production along with completing a number of study weeks.
HR manager Michelle Walker praised the apprentices.
She said: “We are extremely impressed with how Luke, Chelsea and Louise have applied themselves over this past year.
“These youngsters are the future of our business and we aim to give each apprentice knowledge and understanding to pursue a rewarding career in food manufacturing.
“We look forward to sharing this next stage of their journey with them.”
The scheme is delivered in association with the University of Lincoln, and was launched following the success of a similar programme at Greenvale’s Duns site in Berwickshire.
Once the apprentices have completed their training, they will be assigned roles within the company to which they are best suited.
The firm is taking its selection programme back into schools this month.
