March beavers are at home on river

Young beavers had a splashing time when they went out on March’s River Nene to earn one of their activity badges. Members of the 1st March Beavers group enjoyed a trip in rafted canoes as part of their Time on the Water, staged activity badge.

Half the group went on the water with Beaver explorer leaders Gavin Philpott and Mark Shoesmith and some of the group’s young leaders.

Meanwhile, the other half of the group took part in orienteering skills in the town’s West End Park with leaders Sally Gaskin, Lucy Yorke and Lucy Neugebauer.

Mrs Neugebauer said: “All the children, young leaders and leaders had a fantastic time. The children requested to do this activity again, but for longer next time!”
