MARCH town centre was heaving with revellers on Friday night for the annual Christmas Lights Switch-on celebrations.
Thousands packed the Market Place to witness local boxing sensation Charlie Stevens throw the switch to turn on the lights with the help of Father Christmas and fellow sportsman Jack Bristow.
The night included entertainment compered by John Whitehead, as well as fair rides and youngsters had a chance to put in their orders with a visit to Father Christmas in his grotto.
Father Christmas arrived on a sleigh accompanied by Mayor Bernard Keane, his wife Sylvia, Fairy Patsy Brewin and Charlie Stevens.
Town Clerk Clive Lemmon paid tribute to the numerous helpers and volunteers who helped ensure a very successful evening of fun.
