A March primary school has raised £586 for a cancer charity.
Burrowmoor Primary School staff and pupils supported Breast Cancer Now by participating in a Wear It Pink day.
Pupils were encouraged to wear an item of pink clothing on October 23 to raise money to help prevent and cure breast cancer.
Office Manager Helen Foad organised the day, which saw the whole school get involved with wearing pink clothing and donating money.
Several members of staff also made cakes with a pink theme, which were sold in the staff room.
Mrs Foad said: “Sadly we have several members of staff who have been affected by breast cancer, and participating in the Wear It Pink day allowed us to show our support for the great work this charity does.”
Head of School, Carrie Henderson, said: “At Burrowmoor we actively encourage our pupils as well as our staff to get involved in fundraising activities to support a variety of charities.
“The Wear it Pink Day was a great success, allowing us to not only raise money for this important cause, but also helping to raise their awareness of this devastating disease.”
All proceeds raised on the day have been donated to Breast Cancer Now.
