Marie Curie coffee morning

LOCAL supporter of Marie Curie Cancer Care Bonnie Drewry, with the help of her friends and family, has been holding a coffee morning in March and October, for the past 17 years. The October event last year raised almost £2,000 for the charity.

This year’s event will be taking place at the Church Hall, Long Sutton on Saturday March 17 from 10am to noon. Entry is £1 and includes a coffee and biscuits. You can expect a warm welcome with plenty of stalls selling tasty treats like cakes and preserves. There is also a ‘bring and buy’ stall and raffle.

This year Marie Curie Nurses will provide free care for 29,000 terminally ill people across the UK.

Money raised in the county goes towards the Lincolnshire Marie Curie Nursing Service. Last year the 98 Lincolnshire Marie Curie Nurses provided 60,198 hours of home nursing care to 1081 patients. Although the service is always free to patients and their families every hour of a nurse’s time costs the charity £20, which shows just how valuable your support is.
