More than 1,500 enjoy light art project across Fenland towns

More than 1,500 people witnessed their towns being lit up for a special art project created with the help of the community.

The Light up the Town project run by the MarketPlace Creative People and Places team worked with different groups from within seven towns, four of them in Fenland: March, Wisbech, Chatteris, and Whittlesey for the illuminating art display.

Familiar buildings were used as the canvases for a light and sound show that brought the communities together for the free displays that were held on a different night over the space of a week.

Each town's display featured unique projections inspired by local plants and natural elements, turning historic buildings into vibrant works of art.

The other town’s involved were Mildenhall, Newmarket and Brandon.

It was a celebration of local identity, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds.
