Successful summer fayre at Askham Village Community in Doddington
Askham Village Community in Doddington came alive as residents, families, team members, and the wider community gathered for the annual summer fayre, which was the specialist care centre’s most successful yet.
More than 40 stalls filled the grounds, offering everything from handmade jewellery and sweet treats to natural soaps and seasonal bakes.
Children enjoyed a wide range of fairground rides, traditional games like hook-a-duck, and had endless fun on the bouncy castles, while the Doddington Scouts brought an extra spark with soft axe throwing and outdoor challenges.
Foodies had plenty to savour too, with wood-fired pizza from D-Lish Pizza Co, fully loaded wraps from Get Wrapped, and fresh snacks and cakes from the on-site café. Guests also enjoyed the sounds of Laura Dennis and The Singing Gardener (Amanda Scott).
With support from the Askham team, many residents were able to explore the fayre, enjoy the entertainment, and take part in the fun. Team members also made the most of the day with their families.
Associate director Mavrick Leveille said: “The Askham Summer Fayre isn’t just an event. It’s a reflection of who we are. Our team works tirelessly every day, and seeing them relax, reconnect, and enjoy the day alongside residents and families is incredibly rewarding. This kind of togetherness is what keeps us grounded and inspired.”
Now, Askham is looking ahead to its next big celebration, which is its Christmas Fayre. This will take place on Saturday, November 22.
