MP Steve Barclay joins author's drawing masterclass at Fenland school




Local MP Steve Barclay joined pupils at Benwick School for a masterclass in animation drawing by top children's author Cressida Cowell.

The North East Cambridgeshire MP was at the Fenland school last Friday when Cressida, the Waterstones Children's Laureate visited to talk to pupils about the love of reading and gave an inspiring talk and showed children how to draw characters from her popular 'How to Train Your Dragon' books.

Steve said: "How to Train Your Dragon was certainly a favourite with my children. So it was fantastic to join pupils for the talk and drawing masterclass. I even had a go at drawing to of the book characters."

Benwick School is the proud owner of a bespoke library housing over 1,000 brand new books thanks to a flagship project being run by Cressida to help transform school libraries. Her visit was part of the ongoing project.
