A busy weekend for local Stock Car and Banger Racing drivers takes place at the Adrian Flux Arena at King’s Lynn this weekend with racing taking place on Saturday (6pm) and Monday (1pm).

Saturday sees a busy night of action with racing coming from the 2L Stock Cars, 1500cc Bangers, Junior Bangers and MiniStox.

The Junior Bangers are staging their biggest meeting of the season at King’s Lynn – the English Championship. A big entry of cars is expected including current leader of the National Points Wayne Cottrill Jnr (Wisbech) where he will be joined by Brad Bartrum (Wisbech) who makes Superstar for the first time. Other local names in action include Brett Gedney, Alex Hensby, Lee Barnes, Owen Ketteringham and Lennie Murkin.

Marcus Skeels (16) will be making his third appearance in the 2L Stock Cars – and after winning a race at Mildenhall last weekend he will be full of confidence come Saturday night.

Ryan Bartram (Wisbech) will be in action in the 1500cc Bangers.

Action on Monday sees the annual Banger Battle of the Sexes take place together with racing for the Micro Bangers and Reliant Robins.

The Banger Battle of the Sexes is a team event where 16 Lady Drivers take on 16 Male Drivers all racing for charity and in a competition to decide who really is the better sex behind the wheel – ladies or gents? Local drivers in action for the ladies include Kelly Smith and Michelle Payne, whilst Aaron Gray and Jamie Roberts are amongst the male team. The ladies team will be racing for Cancer Research, whilst the male team will be racing to raise funds to buy toys for Rudham Ward at the QEH.

The Micro Bangers will see James Bonnett, Dan Fisher, Tom Smith and Shaun Hill in action, whilst Ryan Bartram will be completing a busy weekend as he competes in both meetings over the weekend.
