Neighbourhood Watch re-launch in March

A neighbourhood watch group is being relaunched.

March Neighbourhood Watch has suffered a decline in members but new committee members are hoping to give the group a fresh start.

A meeting has been organised on Tuesday, January 12, at March Fire Station, from 7pm, in a bid to recruit new members and elect committee members.

Fenland police inspector Will Davis will also be giving a talk.

Secretary Ryan Berridge is urging people in March to attend the meeting to support the group.

He said: “My aim is to bring our community together and to make March a safe and enjoyable town to live and work in.

“I also have plans to set up a Junior Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is the town, which will be the first in the county, and am currently working on a survey to find out what interest I may have on this.”

The March Neighbourhood Watch scheme is made up of around 30 co-ordinators from all corners of the town.

Each co-ordinator operates differently, running schemes with every home in their street.

Co-oordinator meeting dates will be held on:

n Tuesday, March 8

n Tuesday, May 10

n Tuesday, July 12

n Tuesday, September 13

n Tuesday, November 15
