New business park with ‘drive-thru’ restaurants, hotel and petrol station planned for Wisbech

A new business park next to the A47 Wisbech bypass is being planned.

The 8.5-acre Wisbech Gateway ‘development opportunity’ has planning permission for a major commercial roadside scheme, including a hotel and restaurant, and has been put on the market by Watling Real Estate.

Alex Sweetman, a Watling’s director, said: “This is a key roadside location 1.5 miles to the south of Wisbech town centre. It is situated next to the busy A47 Wisbech bypass, providing the main arterial route between Peterborough and King’s Lynn.

“Planning permission is in place for a commercial business park delivering a mix of industrial units, a petrol filling station, retail kiosk, ‘drive-thru’ restaurants, hotel and associated infrastructure.”

He said the site lies close to an established commercial area including industrial occupiers, a major supermarket (Tesco) and automotive uses.

Mr Sweetman added: “This is a highly visible site with an estimated five million vehicles passing on the A47 each year. We are inviting offers on the site and will consider conditional proposals, subject to planning.”
