THE long-awaited new community building at the Memorial Park, Sutton Bridge, is to be officially opened on Saturday at 3pm by the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire Tony Worth, supported by the local MP John Hayes.
The £500,000 community building will be known as the Curlew Centre and it includes a large sports hall.
The committee behind this major venture, Sutton Bridge Community Centre Fund, is hoping as many people as possible will come to the opening to take a look at the new facilities, which will be open for viewing from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
There will also be concert music by Nigel Portass and The Collabor8ors, thanks to funding by Long Sutton and District Civic Society.
On Sunday from noon to 3pm the centre will be hosting a children’s disco/party for three to 11 year-olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a guest appearance of cartoon characters Scooby Doo and Sponge Bob Square Pants as well as party games and seasonal fun.
Entry is free.
