New Citizen’s Advice Bureau volunteers call

THE Fenland Citizen’s Advice Bureau is hoping an open event to recruit more volunteers.

The event is being held on Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm at the Church Mews site in Wisbech.

If you are interested in volunteering for the advice service, you can go along and meet some of the team to see how you can help.

The new Gateway Assessors course will be starting in September and will run for six weeks. This is the initial assessment clients go through when they first get in touch with the CAB.

Advice Service Manager of Fenland CAB, Julie Smith, said: “At a time of high unemployment, increasing economic pressure and cuts to public services, the invaluable contribution made by volunteers is needed more now than ever.

“Volunteering is an excellent way to develop your skills and without their passion and generosity, the service would struggle to survive.”
