Sir Graham Bright, Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner, has accepted an invitation from Independent Wisbech Councillor Virginia Bucknor to attend the next Waterlees Forum meeting on the May 16 at 7.30pm at the Oasis Centre.

“Speeding in the area is a particular concern and is regularly raised at these forums” said Virginia. “This is a densely populated mainly residential area but has speeding vehicles, lorries and tractors driving through it and many residents have said they would favour a 20 mph zone. Anti-social behaviour is another issue that residents raise at the forums and during our regular Street Surgeries”. She said she was pleased Sir Graham was coming to Wisbech to see and hear for himself the policing issues that concern and affect local people.

Inspector Sissons said: It is always great to see influential people coming to Wisbech, as it gives us the opportunity to show them all the great work we are doing. Wisbech has some unique problems which can only be fully understood by coming and seeing them directly. We are all working together to solve these problems and this will be an opportunity for the Commissioner to see for himself the progress we are making.”

“This is an unique opportunity for residents to raise issues directly with the Commissioner and I hope as many people as possible are able to attend ” Cllr Bucknor said.
