A NEW youth centre has opened in the Salvation Army Citadel in Wisbech.
The Alove Youth Centre is a totally refurbished facility which is part of the Salvation Army building in John Thompson Road which has a separate entrance on West Street.
The centre is currently opening on Fridays from 5.45pm to 6.45pm for children of primary school ages and 7pm to 9pm for young people of secondary school age. Facilities include a cafe bar with seating area that serves hot and cold drinks and snacks, table tennis, pool table, Nintendo Wii, PS2, organised games and trips and lots more.
Community youth worker Clare Kinsey said: “We are also looking for volunteers willing to help us so that we can have the centre open every day of the week, including opening a lunchtime cafe for the college students.”
