No dog thefts linked to chalk marks same Cambridgeshire police - but report markings anyway say officers




Fenland police have issued reassurances and guidance to dog owners across the county concerned about chalk markings outside of homes.

Posting on their Facebook page Fenland officers said: "We’re aware that a number of residents have felt worried about chalk markings being linked to potential dog thefts in the county.

"Whilst we haven’t linked this activity to any recent dog thefts in Cambridgeshire, we completely appreciate people’s concerns and over the last few days, we’ve had a number of reports from dog owners about markings outside their homes.

"Each person who has reported this activity in the last 48hours has been contacted and given advice on keeping their homes and pets safe. If you do see these types of markings on your property or fence, we advise you to take a photo of it, let us know and then remove it as soon as you can.
