ENTRY has opened for the first ever Wimblington Village Church Art, Craft and Hobbies Show.
Iris Pyne, who is organising the exhibition, said this is the first year that we are undertaking such a big project and we are looking for support from across Fenland.
Entry, which is free, can be by telephone to Iris on 01354-741263 or to Peter James on 01354-741872.
Closing date is Wednesday May 30. All organisers ask is that if you are successful in selling, that you make a donation to St Peter’s church. The exhibition will run over the Jubilee weekend Saturday June 2 to Tuesday June 5 between 10am and 5pm each day, admission will be free.
Sunday, the morning will be taken up with a special Jubilee church service, when the whole village will come together in praise of God and Queen. Friday is reserved for setting up the exhibition.
Church warden Peter James said: “It is an opportunity for St Peter’s Church to show off the improvements that have taken place in making the church a building fit for community use and a way of saying thank you to all those that have given so generously. We hope that this will be a joyful weekend in the spirit of the Jubilee Celebrations and a contribution to the village celebrations and a major fundraiser for the church especially as we had to cancel our spring sale at short notice due to unforeseen problems.”
