THE annual meeting was held May 1 with councillor J Wake being nominated as chairman again. Danny Cuckow was nominated vice chairman. All the committee places were accepted en bloc. The clerk’s annual report had been distributed before the meeting.

Paul Brenchley (village hall and playing field committee chairman) reported planning has been applied for a new kitchen, committee room and stage area.
Grants are being assessed from Norfolk County Council, Wren and lottery funding. The committee have to apply for permission for a hard play area where the original tennis courts were located. This is now in the feasibility stage.
Offenders carrying out community work are to paint the iron fencing between the car park and footway.
Tina Goulding read the report submitted from the school, who thanked the parish council for the donations towards the Jubilee garden. This term is the preparation of saying goodbye to the Year 6 children who will be moving on and welcoming the new reception intake.
The council are to give the parish children aged between three and 11, a Jubilee commemorative mug. These will be handed out at the Fete on June 4 at Outwell Playing Field.
Highways and street lights issues were reported to all relevant authorities.
Brian Murphy has agreed to carry on the village cleaning job. Albert Cornwell will be recognised for the parish work he has carried out. The next council meeting is at St Andrew’s Church on June 12 at 7pm.
