A CHATTERIS woman and her family have issued a massive thank-you after raising just under £2,500 for charity in just six weeks.

Lara Wayman, her sister Natalie Pettit and sister-in-law Caroline Wayman, have focused their grief at the loss of their mother Pam Price to a brain tumour two years ago to trying to raise awareness of the killer disease.

They staged a coffee morning at Lara’s home in February and raised £560 for Brain Tumour UK, a charity which provides and help support for patients and their families.

A cake stall held in Chatteris High Street on March 30 raised a further £266.93. Barclay’s bank also held a raffle in the branch raising a further £165, which will be matched by the bank.

Finally a fashion show at the Working Men’s Club made £984 through ticket sales and a raffle .

Lara said they were overwhelmed with the support they have been given and are now hoping to organise future events.
