Pedestrian airlifted to hospital after collision with scooter in Outwell

A pedestrian has been flown to hospital after sustaining head injuries in a collision with a motorbike in Outwell earlier today (Thursday).

The Magpas Helimedix team, made up of Doctor Simon Lewis, Doctor Monojit Choudhury and Paramedic Phil Almond, gave advanced treatment to the injured man, who is believed to be in his 60s.

He was anaesthetised and essential A&E level care was given, while the Magpas Helimedix team worked alongside EEAST Ambulance crews. He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where on arrival he was in a serious but stable condition.

The incident happened at just before 1pm on Wisbech Road, Outwell. The motorcyclist was not injured.
