March man Peter Pimm raised over £400 by opening his garden last weekend in aid of FACET, a March-based charity which supports and teaches those with learning or other disabilities.
Peter, who works for Greenvale, wants to help raise funds for FACET as they are a worthy local charity.
Peter is also a fundraising volunteer as well as helping out in the charity’s centre.
His next challenge is to decorate a room in FACET and get his garden ready for Sunday’s March in Bloom competition.
Derek Fitch, volunteer fundraiser said: “It was the hottest weekend when the majority of people want to sit in the shade, but Peter opened his garden and generated over £400 for FACET. Such hard work and commitment is truly fantastic. If we had more volunteers like Peter we would be able to raise the hundreds of pounds we desperately need for replacing our old and expensive-to-run heating system. We really appreciate Peter’s contribution and dedication.”
