Doddington was awash with stars and stripes when the village embraced an all American theme for its Carnival and Sports event on July 4.
Independence Day celebrations in the United States reached their way across the miles when villagers pulled out all the stops for their annual event on Saturday.
Organisers were delighted with the number of people who turned out on the day, and also with the standard of themed floats and entries in the fancy dress competition.
The sports afternoon was also a big hit, with all ages having a go at something new and a climbing wall and debut obstacle course proving particularly popular.
Doddington Carnival and Sports committee said the day was one of the biggest and best yet, and thanked everyone who helped make the day a huge success.
