Plans have been submitted to build a retail park on the outskirts of March.

Brossman Mills Ltd is looking to build 10 retail units, including two restaurants on land south of St Mary’s View, Wisbech Road.

The plans for Westry Retail Park have been lodged with Fenland District Council.

The bid is hoped to create new jobs while bringing businesses to the area.

The application states: “The overarching intention of the proposal is to provide a successful retail development which will thrive and reinforce the attraction of this northern area of growth, to provide a development that will encourage residents to shop locally, and will complement the busy town centre.

“The public consultation feedback is that the proposed scheme can provide a much -needed shopping destination to March. The area is already an established retail destination for the public, and the proposals will create a wider shopping offer and improved accessibility.”

The proposal also includes a roundabout, which aims to alleviate some of the traffic on Peas Hill Road.

Parking, street furniture, a balancing pond and pumping station are also included within the application.
