Let's sort March, Wisbech and villages buses too
Good news that Mayor James Palmer, together with Greater Anglia, is working on improvements to rail services in the Fens (Citizen, October 30).
Now we need someone to campaign regarding the dire bus services to the villages. My direct bus to March is the 56 running between Benwick and Wisbech.
There are very few buses each day and they peter out just after lunch, except for Saturdays and school holidays when they run a little later. Not only are the buses infrequent, it us not unusual for them not to turn up!
There is Doddington Community Hospital and Askham House Care Village on this route, the users of which would benefit from a better bus service.
Incidentally, I know of an elderly lady who visits her husband at Askham House, where there is no official bus stop, so she has to use the Doddington Hospital stop and walk the rest of the way. Not good.
