Police officer given suspended jail sentence for accessing unauthorised information
A Cambridgeshire police detective has been given a suspended jail term for misusing a force computer.
Detective Sergeant Matt Swash, 41, based at March Police Station, admitted the offence at an earlier hearing.
A court heard the officer had accessed unauthorised information about a colleague on a police computer system.
Det Sgt Swash was today (February 17) sentenced to two months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay £250 costs at Cambridge Crown Court.
Det Sgt Swash remains suspended pending internal misconduct proceedings.
