Police take action against motorists including a drink driver who was allegedly four times over the limit




Fenland drivers felt the full force of the law at the weekend with two vehicles seized and another motorist caught driving while more than four times over the legal drink drive limit.

Posting on their Facebook page Fenland police said the first vehicle failed to stop for officers for a short distance on the Lynn Road in Wisbech at around 3.30am yesterday (Sunday).

Two men were then arrested on suspicion of theft of the Silver Ford Focus and failing to provide a sample of breath.

The vehicle was seized.

In a separate incident, police patrolling Cross Drove in Gorefield last night (Sunday) seized a Black Ford Focus for having no insurance and reported the driver for the offence.

Also on Sunday officers from the Fenland Neighbourhood Policing Team were on proactive patrols throughout the afternoon and arrested a suspected drink driver on Acacia Avenue Wisbech. The driver blew 148ugs the legal limit is (35) on the preliminary roadside test. #FenlandNPT #Sgt1082 #1454
