A WISBECH pub has lost its late-night licence after prolonged problems with violence and disorder at the premises.
The licensing committee at Fenland District Council, chaired by Cllr Kay Mayor, decided to follow the advice of police, who had called for a review of the licence at the King’s Head, on Old Market.
Police submitted a detailed dossier of incidents at and around the pub and there were statements from witnesses at Tuesday’s meeting.
The pub can now only sell alcohol until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 1am on Friday and Saturday. Last entry to the premises is 12.30pm on Friday and Saturday.
There must also be two door staff on duty from 10pm until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday.
