Voters say ‘no’ to change

FENLAND voters gave a definite ‘no’ to changing the way MPs are elected.

A total of 27,423 votes were cast in the Alternative Vote referendum by Fenland’s electorate - with 21,087 voting ‘no’ to change compared to 6,336 who said ‘yes’.

Fenland’s vote was added to the East of England result of 1,298,004 votes for ‘no’ compared to 530,140 ‘yes’ votes.
