A weekend of family fun is being planned for this year’s Outwell Festival.
It has grown out of the popular Outwell Gala Weekend and will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29.
The Festival kicks off with a raft race and barbecue, starting at 1pm in Outwell Basin, on Saturday, May 28.
There will be races for children aged 8-13 in teams of six and adults, aged 14-plus, in teams of four.
Entry is free and the races will be held from the Crown Lodge Hotel to the Crown pub.
There will be cash prizes of £30 for the adults’ race and £20 for the children and competitors are encouraged to wear fancy dress.
In the evening there’s a family party at Outwell Village Hall, starting at 7pm.
It will feature live music by New Generation Crash and Burn and a disco with New Level Entertainment.
Admission is by advance ticket only – adults £8, children (5-14) £4, under 5’s free. Family tickets, for two adults and two children cost £20.
All tickets include admission to the music festival on the Sunday, May 29, at Outwell playing field.
The gates open at 1pm and the festival will feature several live bands, disco support, plus game stalls, fun fair rides, face painting, an all-day bar and barbecue and much more.
Admission is £3 per person, two for £5, under 16’s free.
